Second Saturday

It’s that time of the month again in Wynwood and the Design District in Miami, and this is the month before Art Basel, so there are many great shows. Here are some details on several of the events, and more may be coming in later, so the list could grow.

▪ Mass-A-Peel, a show of  Garbage Pail Kids works from Miami artist Luis Diaz will open at Harold Golen Gallery on Saturday.

▪ Miami painter Michael Vasquez explores the dynamics of gangs in How the Land Lies which opens 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Fredric Snitzer Gallery in Miami. Read my interview with Vasquez.

Everybody Suz-ercise!, artist Susan Lee-Chun’s new exhibition, will open Saturday at David Castillo Gallery in Miami. …Lee-Chun, who confesses that she is “total infomercial freak,” approaches her work with a sense of humor and a lot of insight.  … My story on Lee-Chun.

Paul Aho, Julio Green, Darren C. Price, Ross Ford and Alexandra Suarez will show some of their new works in a Miami Art Exchange exhibition at Vernissage, 7-10:30 p.m. Saturday, 2051 N.W. Second Ave., Miami.

▪ As usual, I Heart Miami has a beefy list of other events taking place in Wynwood and the Design District on Second Saturday
