● Every time I get one of those Facebook messages that basically says “I Like Me and I Suggest You Like Me Too,” I laugh to myself because I imagine someone saying that out loud to someone else. Anyway, sometimes those Facebook messages I get just say “I Like So-and-So and Suggest You Like So-and-So Too.” … Well, I just want to say that I like Valentina Ramos’s art blog (header pictured above) and I think you might like it too. ● You know how some people think that everything is all about them? Well, Little Margarita Photography is having a contest for those people … You know who you are. Titled {me, myself & I}, the competition is open to anyone willing to take a photo of themselves, or some part of themselves, and post it to Little Margarita Photography’s Facebook wall by Sept. 28. The winner’s print will be exhibited at Stage 84 for a month and sold to raise money for ArtHeart.

● This week I came across this interesting video of Butter Gallery curator Francesco De La Torre interviewing artist Tawnie Silva about his work.
● If you’re looking for something to do tomorrow night … New Work Miami 2010, featuring the works of about 35 Miami artists including Jim Drain, Vickie Pierre, Bert Rodriguez, Frances Trombly, Michelle Weinberg and Christina Pettersson, opened in July but the exhibition continues and on Thursday the show can be viewed during NWM2010’s After Hours. The art party will include music by Beings and Jacuzzi Boys, and interactive performances by Bert Rodriguez, A Reconciliation (Emerald City) and Talking Head Transmitters, which will broadcast a segment on ’80s rock from the gallery. NWM 2010 After hours runs 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Miami Art Museum, 101 W. Flagler St., Miami. Cost: $5 for members, $15 for non-members includes donation bar and light fare. Call 305-375-1704.

● Gallery 101 is accepting entries through Friday for “See Us, Hear Us, Feel Us,” an exhibition that will be judged by the board of the South Florida Symphony. The winning artwork, which will be donated to The South Florida Symphony, will be featured on the program cover for the symphony’s upcoming season. No entry form is required for the event, but there’s a one-work limit and a $20 entry fee. Intake is noon to 6 p.m. today through Friday, Sept. 3 at Gallery 101, 501 N. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale. The winner will be announced at a reception that runs 7:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4 at the gallery. Call 954-882-1861.
