I’m actually sort of on vacation this week, so not much posting today, but here are a few worthy art events coming up this weekend and I may post more later.

First Ave., in Fort Lauderdale. Cost: $10 to help 18 Rabbit Gallery become a non-profit organization. Call 828-279-1481.
THE WORLD IS YOURS
In Drew Heitzler’s new installation, The World is Yours, the Los Angeles-based artist and filmmaker explores the 1932 film Scarface in a two-channel video projection. Heitzler edits an original version of Scarface, produced by Howard Hughes and directed by Howard Hawkes, to exclude dialog and create an abstract narrative that switches the focus from street crime to white-collar crime.
According to Locust, Heitzler’s installation includes appropriated photographs from Howard Hughes, His Life and Madness, a book that explores how the Howard Hughes Medical Center, initially based in Miami, was a tax dodge enabled by a collaboration with Richard Nixon’s brother. Locust Projects’ windows will be lined with images from the cover of a 1974 Playgirl magazine that contained an article about Hughes and Richard Nixon.
The show opens 7-10 p.m. Saturday and runs through April 30 at Locust Projects, 155 N.E. 38th St., Miami. Call 305-576-8570.

The event will feature wine, cosmos and appetizers 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Hollywood Vine, 2035 Harrison St., in Hollywood. Cost $40. Call 954-445-2028.
