10×10

Question: How do you lure 600 people to a storage facility? Answer: 10×10. That’s the title of Kara Walker-Tome’s annual installation art show in a storage facility.

Walker-Tome is woman with a vision for art in odd places. She’s the woman behind Showtel, a show where installation artists take over the rooms, and even the hotel pool at West Palm Beach’s Hotel Biba and transform them into works of art. Last year Walker-Tome organized a perfromance art show, in a laundromat. This is the third year for her storage facility show which will have visitors searching through hundreds of storage units to find the 17 installations that are spread throughout the facility. It’s kind of like an easter egg unit, but for installation art. This year, 14 of the 18 participating artists are new to the 10×10 show. The roster includes Liz Atzberger, Samantha Gozlan, Lauren Alyssa Howard, Andrew Nigon, Darren C. Price, Justin Rabideau, Lisa Rockford, Carmen Tiffany and others.

The show is 6-10 p.m. Saturday at Lake Worth Storage, 4166 South Military Trail, Lake Worth. On-site parking is limited, so parking at the northeast corner of Lake Worth Road and Military Trail is suggested. Free golf cart rides will be offered from the southeast corner to the site.
